I was about to go out to the oval, where I hoped it would be a little cooler, to read until the forecast thunderstorm arrived. I decided to open the windows to let the apartment cool down a little since the temperature outside was getting down near that inside.
- 2120 EDT
- Very strong winds. Whole trees swaying in the courtyards in front and behind the building. I decided to leave the windows closed so the wind didn't blow them further open and damage them.
- 2130 EDT
- Small branches have been broken off the trees, some with leaves.
The wind is peaking out on my RadioShack anemometer at 14 MPH but it is much stronger than that higher up.
- 2135 EDT
- Drizzle
- 2140 EDT
- Moderate rain.
Constant cloud-to-cloud lightning. I see many more horizontal lightning bolts than vertical ones.
- 2150 EDT
- It appears to be over already. The rain is mostly drizzle and the wind a light breeze. The trees have stopped moving.
- 2155 EDT
- Light rain now.
[Wednesday morning: There were parts of trees down everywhere. Lots of small dead twigs but also some moderate sized healthy branches and limbs in full leaf.]
