Blogger has some kind of DST rule that wouldn't let me post this at 0201 DST.
CNN tells us that today is Pi day. That is the day of the year when the date is equal to the ration of the circumference to the diameter of a circle 3.14159. . ..
I crunched the numbers and found that if you use 3 as the month of the year, .14 as the day of the month and the rest of the decimal figures as the time of the day the actual instant of Pi would have been 0323:53.60527.
If, however, you get a little more literal and use the integer to designate the month and decimal portion of Pi to identify the date and time you find that the instant of Pi was actually 4Mar10 at 0556:48.1581.
Another possible interpretation would be 3Jan10 at 0556:48.1581, the third day of the year.
A slightly more accurate value for Pi:
